PhD opportunities
I currently have a number of PhD projects and  I consider PhD applications  from highly qualified students with a Master degree in engineering, mathematics and physics. The potential candidate is required to maintain strong mathematical  and computational capabilities, as the typical projects  are theoretical and computational nature.  For further details on  the potential PhD projects, please see the research page.

Students from UK and EU
The minimum requirement espeically for studnets from the UK is to have first class honour from a reputatble institution.  The potential candidate should consider a department studentship provided by research councils in the UK. To do so, please e-mail me first, and then apply through a college online application system. This is typically required no later than February.

Students from non-EU countries
Only highly qulified students from top instituations of each country will be considered.  The studneths from non-EU countries should consider to apply for the following schemes, the eligibility of which  depends on nationality of the applicant:
1) Imperial college studentship ;
2) International collaboration schemes.
The application deadline of the schemes above typically starts from November of the year before . If you are  an oversea student  who wishes to do a PhD with me, please contact no later than November.

Postdoc opportunities
I welcome to any postdoc who wants  to work on theoretical and computational fluid dynamics. Postdoctoral fundings  are typically given by applying for  postdoctoral fellowships available with me. Please e-mail me to enquire postdoctoral opportunities at least several months before you want to start.  The  postdoctoral fellowships available are:
1) Newton international fellowship;
2) Marie Curie fellowship;
3) Royal commission of the exhibition of 1851 fellowship;
4) Royal academy of engineering fellowship.
Please consult each of the fellowships if you wish to apply.
